Yemen is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Yemen is the poorest country in the Middle East. Its many challenges include high population growth, deteriorating economic prospects, political tensions and conflict, and weak governance. Poverty is widespread with 47% of the population living on less than $2 a day.

Yemen already had significant humanitarian needs even before the current political crisis with hundreds of thousand Internally displaced people in Northern Yemen.

The current crisis has seen a severe decline in the Yemeni economy which has increased poverty, hunger and generated additional humanitarian needs. Over 2 million Yemenis have been forced to flee their homes and a staggering 18.8 million, over two thirds of the country remain in need of humanitarian assistance.

They desperately need food, water, sanitation and shelter.

The people of Yemen desperately need need food, water, sanitation and shelter, please donate to our Yemen appeal.
